100440: Fulfilling Online Orders with In-Store Inventory using Sterlite’s ATG Store Fulfillment Module
Learn about the unique functionality that Sterlite has built for one of its retail clients on the ATG 11.2 platform. By creating this module, “Ship From Store” is now possible for those that have legacy ERP systems that are incapable or are otherwise unable to take advantage of such a scenario. The “Ship From Store” concept enables clients to leverage their current in store inventory rather than having products shipped from the distribution center or the manufacturer. The mechanism is not visible to the consumer making the purchase, and algorithms taking into account the nearest stores, available inventory as well as shipping costs are used in the decision making process. By utilizing this type of functionality, the client is able to turnover store inventory more quickly, as well as benefit from lower shipping costs, yielding scalable cost savings.
